Computing

In Computing you will learn all about the diversity and complexity of the computing industry. Most importantly, we deliver a tailored curriculum which ensures you leave with the knowledge and qualifications that the industry really want. In gaining your qualifications you can learn all about:

  • Animation
  • Web Development
  • Programming (Python and C#)
  • Network design and maintenance
  • Software and Hardware Support
  • Use of social media and business related applications
  • CISCO Essentials, CISCO CCNA & CCNP
  • Microsoft Technical Associate (and higher) qualifications

Certainly, the software development allows a broad range of options for the future whilst you will also have opportunities to work on projects and gain work placements in a variety of cutting-edge employers. The qualifications launches you into a wide range of careers. Previously, we have seen our students go into modern IT infrastructure, cyber security, media industry, design industry and web development.  Furthermore this is made easier with our employer partners.

Ofsted say – Teaching and outcomes are strong in vocational subjects in both Key Stage 4 and 5.

In addition, to learning in the classroom, we take our students on numerous field trips allowing them to view the workplace environments whilst applying theory. Certainly, having employer led lessons makes us different to most other colleges.

Ofsted say – Pupils are very clear about the best approaches to take to develop the skills they need. In programming classes, the teacher has expertly made good use of some pupils’ higher level skills gained from their hobbies to help other less confident pupils make progress.
