Bucks UTC Computing Students & Framework Digital to Design Websites For Local Charities
Our Year 12 Extended Diploma students were welcomed this morning by Tomas Pukalski, Director of Framework Digital, to brief them about an exciting, community-based web design project that will see our learners creating websites for a range of local charities.
The brief is to work in pairs in order to create a website that’s fit for purpose using a programme called WordPress – the industry standard for website creation and content management – with each pair being assigned one charity’s website. The project offers our students a brilliant chance to gain genuine working experience in web development and also, to work with a client on a professional level. In addition to this, it means that many local charities, will soon have an improved online platform to aid their causes at no cost.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our students as it will give them a genuine experience working professionally within the Computing Industry with real clients, plus it’s a project that’s going to do a lot of good for our community.” – Alan Bailey, Head of Computing at Bucks UTC
Framework Digital is keen to support young people in recognising and building their skills. We know it’s important for them to gain valuable, relevant experience to support their studies. Working with Bucks UTC and Alan Bailey, Head of Computing, Framework Digital has been able to support students as they design and build websites for local charities. This allows us to provide charities with an online presence for the cost of hosting and gives students a real brief that they can apply their skills to, as well as direct contact with customers to develop their communicational skills and confidence”. – Tomas Pukalski, Director of Framework Digital.
