New Year Message From The Executive Principal

Dear Parents and Carers.

Reminder re:

i) Attendance

ii) Times of the College Day

Can I belatedly wish you a Happy New Year!

I hope that your festive season was relaxing and fulfilling, and that the new calendar year has got off to a positive start for yourself and all of your family. Obviously the Spring Term is a pivotal moment – the academic year and, given the nature of our curriculum, it is important that every student makes the most of new opportunities in the coming weeks.

With the above in mind, can I remind you both of the importance of good attendance and punctuality. In the case of the former, there is a correlation between attendance and academic progress. Shall a student’s attendance fall below 95%, this could amount to missing more than four weeks of lessons which will impact upon progress. In the case of the latter, our aspiration is to ensure that all students are outstanding applicants to prospective employers – a positive attitude and punctuality is an important attribute.  It might be helpful if I remind you of the times of the College day for the current year.

I know that we have our main Computing and Construction Evenings for Years 11-13 students shortly and I hope that you will join us to review the progress of the year-to-date: it is important to every student that we work together to support and shape their work in the coming weeks.

I look forward to working with you in the coming weeks.

Yours sincerely,

Tony Withell
