STUDENTS’ WAR THEMED POETRY PUBLISHED

Six year 10 students at Bucks UTC were thrilled to hear that their poetry, entered for a national writing competition run by Young Writers, will be published. The theme for the competition was ‘conflict’ and the students have been studying First World War poems as part of their curriculum. Their work will now be re-produced in the War of Words publication in January next year.

Jenni Bannister, Managing Editor, Young Writers, said: “I would like to congratulate Bucks UTC. The pupils wrote some fantastic conflict-themed poetry and we thoroughly enjoyed reading every entry.”

Parents of the students were equally delighted hear the news. Claire Price, mum to student Harry Price, age 14, said: “I’m very, very happy with the news of Harry’s work being selected for publication. It’s the first time he’ll be able to see his work in print.”
