Taylor Wimpey sponsors new minibus for Bucks UTC students
Leading housebuilder and Bucks UTC partner, Taylor Wimpey has delivered another boost to the UTC by sponsoring a new minibus for use by students.
Taylor Wimpey has built a strong relationship with the UTC since we opened in September, providing sponsorship for our popular construction course as well as donating work-wear for the students.
The housebuilder, which has its national head office in High Wycombe and is building high-quality new homes at developments in Aylesbury and across Buckinghamshire, also welcomes 14-to-19-year olds from Bucks UTC for work experience at its sites around the region.
The new minibus will be used to transport students to work experience placements and other educational activities, and its keys were handed over to Principal Bev Flanagan by Taylor Wimpey Chief Executive Pete Redfern during a special visit to the college on Wednesday 4 December.
He said: “It’s absolutely vital that our industry does its utmost to support youngsters who choose to pursue careers in construction, and it gives us great pleasure to work in partnership with Bucks UTC to nurture the housebuilders of the future.
“By sponsoring this brand new minibus, we’re making it that little bit easier for students to travel to their work experience placements – enabling them to get out of the classroom and develop their skills in a workplace setting.”
Bev Flanagan added: “We’re delighted with the fantastic support that we’ve received from Taylor Wimpey since we welcomed our first students this term, and we’re extremely grateful for this sponsored minibus.
“It’s great to be able to work so closely with employers such as Taylor Wimpey and we hope we’ll continue to enjoy a fruitful partnership long into the future.”
